What this tool is

Paint Calculator is a free, browser-based estimator that helps you work out roughly how much paint to buy for a room. You may use it for personal or commercial projects, as long as your use is lawful.

Estimates, not guarantees

The figures are a planning guide. Real paint coverage depends on the surface, the colour and how the paint is applied, and can vary well beyond the defaults used here. Always read the coverage on the tin, and when in doubt buy the extra quart or litre rather than run short mid-wall. Paint Calculator is not responsible for paint bought, unused, or run short based on an estimate.

Your data

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The only thing it stores is your most recent room, saved in your browser's local storage so the form is ready next time — never sent to us or anyone else. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

The service is provided as available, without warranties of accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, Paint Calculator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the tool.
